    Premantura

The small village of Premantura lies at the beginning of the promontory, which  leads to Cape Kamenjak. The cape marks the southern tip of Istria. The headland or peninsula is almost ten kilometers long and 1.5 kilometers wide.

The houses of Premantura are scattered over the town and the surrounding area, but most of  the peninsula is a protected area. Country lanes pass through a rugged landscape of bushes and shrubs, with the lighthouse of Porer cliff towering at the end.

Around the peninsula there are severeal bathing bays at rocky and pebble  beaches. Nature lovers who are on foot or by bicycle will discover a variety of  rare plants, for example some orchid species. In summer, there is a lot of activity on the Cape – swimming, surfing, paddling.

A popular meeting point on the  peninsula is the Safari Bar, which is hidden on the south side in the reeds by the  sea. Shops, bars and restaurants in the village provide everything you need on a  holiday in Premantura.

For a trip from the holiday home in Premantura, there are two main destinations  in the area: the tourist town of Medulin and the Adriatic metropolis Pula. Both are  only about ten kilometers away from Premantura. Medulin is worth a visit  because of its beautiful and long sandy beach, the numerous possibilities to go  out for a meal and perhaps visit the disco or the amusement park in the evening.

Pula, with its approximately 80,000 inhabitants, almost considered a City and one of the most important ports in Croatia. Under the Romans Pula flourished. Even  today, numerous monuments bear witness to the glorious past: the mighty  amphitheater, a triumphal arch in the Old Town and the Augustus Temple are just  some of the outstanding examples. Just a 30-40 minutes drive away from here lie the charming coastal towns of  Rovinj and Porec with many attractions such as the famous Euphrasian Basilica  (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
